30GB HDD model lets you keep on shooting with up to 27h of recording time, and capture beautiful 3CCD images
The SDR-H280 is a hybrid model that can record on either an SD (or SDHC) Memory Card or its built-in hard disks. The SDR-H280 features a 30GB hard disk that holds up to 27 hours of recording in LP mode. This enhanced-image-quality model also features the 3CCD camera system commonly used in professional broadcast equipment, as well as Panasonic's renowned Optical Image Stabilizer, and a Leica Dicomar lens.
Panasonic's professional 3CCD video cameras have brought breathtaking images to viewers around the world since 1992, when they were first selected as the broadcast equipment for the Olympic Games. Panasonic has downsized its professional 3CCD camera system for use in the H280. In a 3CCD camera system, the light received through the lens is split into its three primary colour components (red, green and blue), providing more vivid, true-to-life colours, greater detail and richer gradation.
It protects data well too, thanks to its exceptional reliability. This is made possible by the super-reliable SD Memory Card, which does not require any kind of transport mechanism, together with an Anti-Shock Shield that helps protect the built-in hard disk from the effects of external impact. With its extended recording times and rugged design, this model is ideal for shooting lengthy events or for taking on the road.
It also offers a new function that simplifies the process of copying recordings from the Memory Card or hard disk to a DVD disc. Simply connect the camcorder to a VW-BN1 DVD Burner (optional) and press a button. No PC is required. A DVD disc created this way can be easily played on DVD players.
